Dr. Peu Ghosh is M.A, Ph.D in International Relations from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Currently, she is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science, Lady Brabourne College, Kolkata, West Bengal. She has obtained a Certificate in Human Rights from IGNOU in 2016.
She has special interest in International Relations, international political economy, politics of South Asia, migration and refugee issues and International Humanitarian Law.
She is the author of the books titled International Relations and Indian Government and Politics, both from PHI Learning, New Delhi which are highly popular among the academicians and students of Indian Universities. She has a monograph titled Bhutanese Refugees: a Forgotten Saga which is based on rigorous research work and visit to the Bhutanese refugee camps in Nepal. She has a number of Articles in reputed journals and Chapters in edited books to her credit.
She has worked as an intern with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, New Delhi. She has gone through training in Peace Studies in the Institute of Peace and Dialogue, Vienna, Austria under pioneer teachers like Prof. Johan Galtung, Dietrich Fischer, Patrice Brodeur and Sara Clarke- Habibi who have illuminated her with their knowledge on conflict and conflict resolution.
She is involved in research, teaching activities and advocacy at College and University levels. As a resource person in a number of International and National workshops, conferences and seminars, she shares her knowledge and expertise in Political Science and International Relations.
She is a member of the core group which is involved in the formulation of Fundamental Glossary of Political Science from English to Bengali and also offers her expertise in developing other related glossaries and definitional dictionaries in different regional languages under the Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology (CSTT), Department of Higher Education, MHRD, Government of India.
She has delivered audio-visual lectures and prepared academic and e-contents as a part of UGC Project under the MHRD Programme titled National Mission for Education through ICT Tools. She has completed a UGC sponsored Minor Research Project on Democracy Deficit & Political Unrest in North Africa: Implications on World Peace & Global Governance.
