A walk- in-interview will be held on
28.6.13 at 12 noon in the Dept. of Zoology, Lady Brabourne College
for the post of a Project Fellow for an UGC Major Research Project
entitled ‘Epitope mapping of the allergenic proteins of the pollen
of a few allergenic plants growing in Kolkata: Implications for
immunotherapy and studies on the air pollution impact on their
etiology’ under Dr. Sanjukta Mondal (Parui), Associate Professor
and Head of the Department of Zoology as Principal Investigator
[Ref. No. F. No. 42-559/2013 (SR), dated 22.3.13], for 3 years.
Consolidated salary for the post will be Rs. 14,000/- for the
first two years and Rs. 16,000/- for the third year. Interested
candidates with M.Sc. in Zoology/Life Sciences with at least 55%
marks may appear for the interview with a CV, relevant documents
(original and one set of photocopies) and a passport size
photograph on the said date. |

No candidate reporting after 2.00 pm will be allowed to appear for the interview. No candidate can seek admission if she fails to attend for the interview.

Syllabus for admission test/interview (answer scripts shall be provided by the college):

English – Candidates will be tested on grammatical skills, vocabulary, literary appreciation, knowledge of other literatures, fine arts etc.

Bengali – (10+2) level Bengali syllabus particularly History of Bengali literature and General idea about Bengali literature till drama.

Microbiology – (10+2) level Biology and Chemistry.

Admission Notice
Admission to the 3-year degree course (B.A/B.Sc), 2013-2014

Admission forms for the session 2013-2014 will be available on the designated site

Each candidate can apply for a maximum of four subjects. Candidates must take a printout of the application form and challan (3 pages) generated after successful online submission of the forms and produce the same at the time of admission.

Kindly note that the Bank Challan Generation Server will not be available between
9.00 PM to 8.30 AM every day.
Hence, kindly do not make any applications during this period. Any attempt to apply during this period will not be entertained by the College.

Applicants are required to deposit application fees at any core banking branch of Indian Bank from through cash only on presentation of challan (Bank copy) which can be downloaded after submitting forms online. For applicants from within the State, a list of all the branches in West Bengal has been given for their convenience.

Fees must be remitted to the bank within 10days of online form submission. Else their application stands cancelled.

The price of each form is Rs. 100/- only.

Self financing career oriented courses in PUBLIC RELATIONS and ADVERTISING and MULTIMEDIA and ANIMATION are also available for students pursuing graduate courses under Calcutta University. A self financing computer-training course is also held in collaboration with WEBEL Informatics Ltd. (under Dept. of Information Technology, Govt. of West Bengal) and a Spanish Language Training Programme in collaboration with WTCC School of Trade and Communication, Kolkata.

Candidates seeking readmission to 1st year B.A./ B.Sc. Honours, 2013 are requested to consult their respective departments on the following dates. They will be have to give an application to the Principal forwarded by the Head of the Department of their respective subjects and then collect their application form from the office at a cost of Rs. 25/- and submit it to the respective department on the same day.
For Arts subjects: 05.06.13 (11.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.) For Science subjects: 06.06.13 (11.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.)
The admission of these candidates will be conducted on the same date as the fresh candidates (the dates of which will be announced later).

WEBEL INFORMATICS LIMITED
The college has been running a Computer Diploma Course in collaboration with Webel Informatics Ltd. (A Govt. of West Bengal undertaking) for the benefit of the students since 1996. The course has been subjected to regular review to suit the requirements of the students. Separate syllabi for the humanities, the bio-science and the pure science disciplines have been framed, each to be taught over a period of two years.
A nominal course fee of Rs 750/- per annum is charged per student for the smooth running of this self – financing Programme. The DIPLOMA awarded on successful completion of the course are jointly issued by the Principal of the college and Webel Informatics Ltd. (A Govt. of West Bengal undertaking) under the department of 'Information & Technology', Govt. of West Bengal
The motivation behind running this course is to give students proper grounding in the versatile use of computers against minimum effort and expense .For science students the course is preparatory for portions of degree syllabi involving computer programming. All students are ADVISED to participate in this programme so that they may equip themselves beyond their degree course for any future career options they may wish to pursue.

Food and Drug Safety
One year Post Graduate Course
For Microbiologists /Nutritionists - Both Girls and Boys
This is the first time one Post Graduate Vocational Course on
‘Food and Drug Safety’ has been introduced for
Microbiologists/ Nutritionists in Kolkata. Those who are not
willing to join M.Sc or PhD programme in Microbiology/ Food and
Nutrition may join this programme of one year and after completion
of which they will be ready for a job . The syllabus of the course
is designed in such a way that the candidate will become suitable
for a Food Analyst or a laboratory assistant post or a post for
the technician of a Food Analysis or, a Food Processing or a Food
Manufacturing company or a drug Analysis or a Drug Manufacturing
Industry. Duration of the Course is from July to June.
The Course has been sponsored by University Grants Commission
and the Diploma will be conferred by University of Calcutta
